My father swallowed my mother when she was still pregnant with me, so when I was born, Hephaestus chopped open Zeus' head with an axe, and I came out in full armor, ready for battle! These things all kind of go together...You see, I am very wise, which makes me good at battle--not because I am good at fighting (that's Ares!), but because I am good at strategizing. I also like to use my wisdom to invent things; I invented all kinds of things, including the chariot, the ship and the flute. I also invented the horse bridle, because I wanted man to be able to control horses. Overall, I am just a problem-solver.
